Reasons for Redesign
* Regarding the following three questions, your answers could involve any of the following: because you have a new business model, your current site is outdated, your business has expanded services that you would like to feature, you are trying to attract a different audience, you are trying to establish corporate identity or business validity, etc. Please feel free to be as brief or as detailed as you wish.
Why do you want to redesign your site, anyway? In the case of an initial site design, what do you hope to accomplish by having a website developed?
What are your primary online business objectives for your website?
What are your secondary online business objectives regarding your website?
Your Site Audience
Describe your idea of the “average visitor” to your website. If you have any statistics, please give us some basic demographics: age, occupation, income level, purchasing habits. Use as much detail as possible in profiling your target user, and if necessary profile more than one type of site user.
What is the primary “action” you wish your site visitor to take? Examples of this could be to make a purchase, sign up for services, gain information about your company, etc.
What are the key reasons why the target audience chooses (or should choose) your company’s products and/or services? Better perception of cost, service, or value over that of your competition?
How many people currently access (or do you anticipate accessing) your site on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis? If you currently have a website, how do you measure site usage by your site visitors? Do you have an anticipated increase of usage after your site redesign?
Company Perception
How should your site visitors perceive your new (or redesigned) website? In the case of a site redesign, ideally how will this new site perception differ from the perception of your current website?
How is your company currently perceived offline? Should your website be perceived as a natural extension of your offline business, or as a completely independent entity?
Do you want to carry the same kind of message through your website as you do through your offline business?
Do you have a “brick and mortar” location?
How do you or your company differentiate yourself from your competitors? Do you think your current audience differentiates you from your competition? Please list competitor URLs.
Do you feel your company currently creates “brand loyalty” with your current client or customer base?
List the URLs of any sites you find compelling. What specifically do you like about these sites?
